Industrial Internet of Things
Internet of Things (IoT) means the linking of physical devices (cooling, heating, control and machines for example) with the internet. Theoretically almost all “things” can be linked with internet. Through sensors and other kind of hardware data can be generated. Subsequently these data can be used .to have the devices which are online, communicate with each other, with companies and/or with other parties. All this together stands for Internet of Things.
The application of IoT in industry is called Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The devices, machines and controls connected produce data which offer a large amount of new, useful information. These data can give for example insight into the current use or the process and predictions about the use in future can be made. Signalling of maintenance and support is an example of this. Insight into these data can be used for improvements and increase of efficiency.
IoT platform
A sensor or device will be an IoT, if the link and data are used for a higher goal. A cloud platform makes the devices “smart”. With an IoT platform you can collect, save, show, analyse, report and control data.
80Solutions offers such a platform in the “Cloud”.
